Take a look below at the testimonials we have recived from parents and carers:
‘’Katie LOVES TRUE COLOURS!!
The staff are young, energetic and enthusiastic, which I love, because Katie herself is only 24 so it’s really good to have staff of similar ages. Marian arranged for the staff to start their day at my home, so they could help with washing and dressing. Initially, I was reluctant with this, obviously because of privacy in my own home, but it’s turned out to be more than helpful, and truthfully I don’t know how I coped without them. They are polite and respectful of my home, and I am more than happy with the rapport that we all have.
All the activities are centred around Kat ie and her needs and likes, and for the first time in months and months Katie has been participating in activities which she had refused to do during the last year or two at her previous council day service.
When I think of the extremely ‘bad place’ I found myself in last year, I actually DO remember thinking to myself at the time, that things happen for a reason, and although the situation was dire, I also remember thinking that I knew the move with Marian and TRUE COLOURS would eventually be the best, the most beneficial, and the right decision to make.
I was right!’’
‘’True Colours has given Adam the opportunity to explore a broad spectrum of activities and learning experiences that has previously not been available to him and he is consequently flourishing! Adam has settled at True Colours from day one, and we immediately noticed how much more relaxed he was and how much enjoyment he has gained from his attendance. Adam has become much more confident and self-assured and this has undoubtedly translated into his overall behaviour at home.
He is a much happier, relaxed young adult who can’t wait for his next day at True Colours. This is amazing to see when prior to attending True Colours he was isolating himself in his bedroom 24 hours a day/7 days a week and showed no interest in changing this routine.
We continue to be amazed at Adam’s progress since attending True Colours because his social skills have blossomed with the support he receives. We no longer feel that he is isolated from the ‘real world’, and for the first time in his 22years it is heart-warming to hear Adam say he has friends! That in itself is a major milestone for someone with autism and one we never thought we would reach.
This only proves that if you get the environment and support right no-one needs to feel alone and isolated. This also translates to the support given to us as a whole family as we have always been made to feel welcome as much as Adam and that comes from every member of staff- you cannot put a price on that kind of support, so thank you again! ‘’
Hi Marian and everyone at True Colours
We would just like to say a big thank you from all of us. Chole love's True Colours. We can't believe the difference in her. She is happy & content. She is so excited to get out in the morning. You have made a real difference in only a few weeks. The change is unbelievable. She loves us to read her communication book when she gets home!
Everything comes to a stop while we read out what she has been yp too. Not only is she excited but you can see the pride and happiness in her smile! It may be the luxury hot chocolatte or feeding the ducks! That is what Chole loves to do. It's the little things in life that count the most! Don't know what we would do without you. True Colours are the little potof gold at the end of the rainbow! True Colours rainbow!
This is just the beginning. Thank you do much you are a real gem!
Looking forward to the future xx
Can i Just say how amazed as parents we are at Jamie's massive change in his character (in a positive way) since being at True Colours. He seems to of changed over night, he's been interacting more and his eye contact is unbelieveable, he actually walked over to his dad and gave him a massive cuddle with his arms wrapped around his waist. He has never ever had a cuddle off Jamie, so there was a few tears (with joy).
So thank you. True Colours seem to be bringing Jamie's little character alive
